1. BELIEVE ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
Surrounding yourself with positivity is the first step towards achieving your goals. No one ever found success by deciding they couldn't from the start. Can you imagine if Colonel Sanders gave up on his dream of bringing delicious fried chicken to all man kind? We would have no idea how scrumptious chicken could actually taste! His secret recipe containing 11 herbs + spices was rejected over 1000 times before he finally found success.
“I made a resolve then that I was going to amount to something if I
could. And no hours, nor amount of labor, nor amount of money would
deter me from giving the best that there was in me. And I have done that
ever since, and I win by it. I know.”
- Colonel Sanders
2. PRACTICE GOOD HABITS
If you wait until you feel like doing something, you may never do it at all. If you simply begin a task, you can actually feel more motivated as you do it. Focus on the habits you want to acquire + those you want to ditch. Prioritize them + pick one at a time to focus on. Pay attention to the things may trigger distraction from your goals. Be kind to yourself + find small rewards when you begin to make your desired habits stick. There's an app for that!
3. CREATE A SENSE OF URGENCY
Many tasks don’t have deadlines, which leads to procrastination. That’s why faking urgency can help. If you have a mound of laundry to put away, wait 20 minutes before your favorite show, + start folding!
If you need to create a sense of urgency you have to be fully present in the here + now. Urgency only exists in the moment. Try focusing on your highest
priority activities. These are the 20 percent of activities that will
get you 80 percent of the results you desire.
4. ELIMINATE UNNECESSARY ACTIVITIES
Your time is your most precious commodity. If you are bogged down with unnecessary tasks + events, the momentum you’ve been working so hard to create will inevitably slow down. You are the guardian of your schedule and you may have to identify the unnecessary + eliminate, delegate or outsource wherever possible.
Create standard routines in your schedule so you can achieve a
disciplined approach + be ready for important events + deadlines.
Effort is often wasted when people don't have a clear path to success.
Plan when you will work on tasks, stick to the time allotted for your
tasks, + schedule-in down time.
5. GET THE SUPPORT YOU NEED
Find people, places, and things that nourish your potential! Actively hunt for inspiration and encouragement. Share your goals with your closest loved ones and ask for their accountability and support. Find role models whose success can be attributed to hard work and skills and not to a rare lightning strike.
